About Us

Our Vision

Agricultural systems and practices that are best for farmers and animals, people and the planet.

Our Purpose

Action for Agriculture’s mission is to celebrate the diversity, creativity and innovation behind the people and places that produce the food we eat and the natural fibres we use.

To do this we work with young people and teachers.

We focus on young people in agriculture and teachers whose students are in Australian primary and secondary schools.

We see young people as our greatest resource and our programs are supporting agriculture’s succession plan by:

  • Identifying and training agriculture’s emerging leaders (who we call – Young Farming Champions) to be confident communicators, trusted voices and role models of who you can be in agriculture.
  • Identifying and supporting innovative teachers to empower their students to act on issues important to them and their communities through our in-school programs – The Archibull Prize and Kreative Koalas.
  • Attracting the best and the brightest to the agriculture sector.

Young people may only be 20% of the population but they are 100% of the future and we are supporting them to feel seen, heard, understood and valued.

Our Goals

Goal 1
We create opportunities for young people to learn the skills needed to be adaptable and resilient in complex and changing times.
Goal 2
We transform young people to be empowered advocates and changemakers making a difference to Australian agriculture and how it is perceived by the wider community.
Goal 3
We amplify the youth voices of agriculture through our in-school programs: The Archibull Prize and Kreative Koalas.
Goal 4
We showcase the diversity of careers and career pathway opportunities in the agricultural sector.
